On February 14, our coworkers gathered together for a special lunch in celebration of Valentine’s Day.
Inspired by John Paul Young’s song “Love is in the air“, this Valentine’s themed meal was a pleasant surprise to many of the coworkers who were amazed to see the ground floor as lovely as it was.
Heart shaped balloons filled the ground floor, floating above the beautifully decorated tables in the kitchen which were covered with roses, sweet treats & pizza!
Recognised as a significant cultural and commercial celebration around the world, Valentine’s Day originated as a Western Christian liturgical feast as many early Christian martyrs were named Valentine.
In the 18 Century it involved into an occasion where lovers expressed their love for one another by presenting gifts. Popular Valentine’s Day symbols used are cupid, doves and hearts.
Interesting enough, in places like South America, the celebration doesn’t take place until June 12.
Well, regardless of where you are from, as the song goes on, “love is in the air everywhere I look around, love is in the air every sight and every sound. And I don’t know if I’m being foolish. Don’t know if I’m being wise, but it’s something that I must believe in and it’s there when I look in your eyes”.
Happy Valentine’s everyone!!!
